Whats New in SAP Operational Process Intelligence SP02

 

 

With the release of SP02 there are many exciting NEW features.  Lets take a few minutes and walk

through these together.

 

NEW: Business Scenario Project (BSP) perspective.

NEW: Actions for Supporting Business Users in Handling Business Scenarios

NEW: Checklists for Supporting Business Users in Quickly Reaching Business Goals

NEW: Data Model for Business Scenario Data

 

ENHANCED: Analyzing Measures and Indicators

 

 

NEW: Business Scenario Project (BSP) perspective.

A couple of points to consider as we proceed with the topic of BSP:

  1. We recommend to use BSP to create business scenarios because in upcoming releases new features will be available with BSP only.
  2. BSP allows you to collaborate via Team Sharing.

 

With the NEW Business Scenario Project perspective in SAP HANA studio, you can use the SAP HANA Team Provider perspective to collaboratively model business scenarios.

 

First, from the HANA Studio, use File>New Project.

Simply open the SAP Operational Process Intelligence folder and select Business Scenario Project.

Follow the next screen to give your new project a name and click Finish.

Now we can share the project:

New: Actions for Supporting Business Users in Handling Business Scenarios

 

As a solution expert you can define actions for a business scenario that can be easily and quickly performed by business users on space.me.

These actions support business users in handling the business scenario and reaching its goal. Recurring tasks can be easily accessed and executed using these actions.Actions are defined on a business scenario level and therefore are available and are the same for all instances of the business scenario. These actions are also called navigation actions.  You can have one or many actions that will be available throughout your scenario instance.  Practically, you have the ability to access backend systems, or link to SAP GUI or even expose UI's that were previously created via Gateway.  Those are just some examples were creating an action will enable the Business User while running Space.me, to leverage other systems and data to expedite the completion of the instance within the Business Scenario.

 

 

Within The HANA Studio you simply select Actions then New Navigation Action:

On space.me, these actions support business users in handling the business scenario and reaching its goal.  In the diagram

below you can see the actions that are available throughout the scenario instance in the lower left hand corner.

NEW: Checklists for Supporting Business Users in Quickly Reaching Business Goals

As a solution expert, you can configure checklists for a particular business scenario. A checklist contains important tasks that usually need to be performed to reach the business goal within the business scenario. The tasks you define in SAP HANA studio for a business scenario are displayed as a checklist for each instance of the business scenario on space.me. Therefore, checklists support business users in handling and executing the necessary tasks to quickly reach the scenario-specific goal. You can configure as many checklists that are necessary to meet the scenario goal.  As you will see in the video, Checklists are a flexible list of tasks and actions to execute that enable the completion of the running instance.  They also serve as mechanism to handle critical escalations and/or escalations.

 

From within the HANA Studio you can configure the Checklist simply by adding a new Checklist:

It will then appear within  space.me as you drill down into the specific instance.

After selecting ‘CHECKLIST’ above you are now presented with the configured list. As you can see this is the same list

that you configured above within the HANA Studio.

NEW: Data Model for Business Scenario Data

With a data model, you can define a structure for entering data for the business scenario during runtime, thus enabling business users to read, edit, and add business scenario instance-relevant data.  This is an additional way to provide supplemental context data to a scenario that was not originally part of the scenario nor from a participant. The data of the data model is stored in an SAP HANA table and is available to the user in the scenario instance view on space.me.  Typically, the use case for creating a Data Model would be to bridge process gaps that are needed for the realization of an end to end process.
